GENERAL SUMMARY
The Program Staff position will work with residents in multiple points of their recovery journey at our Justin’s Place Recovery Program. The primary responsibilities are to provide support to the staff and residents of St. Matthew’s House by aiding to the many program needs of the Justin’s Place Program and its residents. The Program Staff position will be a part of a faith-based Discipleship Team that is dedicated to discipleship, active listening, and mentoring the women in the Justin’s Place Recovery Program.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
- Must have a Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Works a variety of shifts which include second and third shifts as well as nights and weekends.
- Ensures residents are following/maintaining Justin’s Place guideline as outlined in the resident handbook. Issues warnings for non-compliance when applicable.
- Familiar with policies and procedures
- Case note documentation and uploaded files
- Facilitates nightly phone calls and other evening duties
- Facilitates night classes/groups as applicable
- Helps lock up the facility after curfew
- Provides accountability for breathalyzer and prints bed roster
- Observes clients receiving medications before bed
- Administers random drug screens on residents as required
- Answers questions and provides support to the residents
- Oversight of the Program Vehicles and facility for cleanliness (weekends)
- Support transportation needs and provides training regarding driver safety
- Helping the Case Manager with any duties for up-keeping those properties and overseeing the residents and their responsibilities
- Completes discharge of residents, as needed, with accurate information.
- May be required to attend evening events with the residents as staff coverage.
- Serve as an approved driver as needed to transport resident to/from events or appointments.
- Program staff must always maintain a high level of integrity, including (but not limited to) safety, courtesy, and positive communication.
- Program staff must be trustworthy, work well in a team environment, and maintain a neat, professional appearance. The ability to work safely and co-operatively in a variety of situations is a must.
- Any other task determined by the Assist. Program Director
Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Recovery Peer Specialist or Certified Recovery Support Specialist desired.
- A minimum of 1-year experience working with individuals who are homeless or suffering from addiction.
- Program staff must be trustworthy, work well in a team environment, and maintain a neat, professional appearance. The ability to work safely and co-operatively in a variety of situations is a must.
- Treats all residents with respect and exercises appropriate boundaries with residents
- Must be willing to work non-standard work schedule including nights, weekends, and other unusual hours due to business needs.
- Must have a Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- Program staff must be able to handle driving compact cars and large passenger vans.
