Job Summary
The Finance Manager works with the Pastor and Finance Council to oversee the financial and temporal affairs of the parish. He/she operates in concert with the policies, procedures, and guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (AOP). This part-time position supports stewardship of the resources and goods of St Raymond of Penafort parish.
The incumbent will report directly to the Pastor.
Job Duties
· Oversight of the parish QuickBooks database and other financial records.
· Oversight and maintenance of other financial records and/or databases as required by the Pastor and/or the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
· Record parish receipts and disbursements that pertain to Account Receivables and Account Payables. This includes maintenance of applicable hard copy documents.
· Preparation and distribution of various internal financial reports, such as a Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, and other relevant reports.
· Reconcile various general ledger accounts, including bank accounts.
· Compliance with Archdiocesan and other security procedures related to safe handling of parish funds.
· Serve as the primary support-person for financial audits performed by any entity. Ensure that internal controls are properly performed and communicated.
· Coordination with fellow pastoral team (staff) members and heads of parish ministries regarding their individual department budgets, financial reporting, and salaries and benefits.
· Regular and ongoing dialogue with the Pastor, Deacon and Finance Council on financial operations and areas of concern
· Attendance at annual meetings with the Pastor, the Deacon, and Finance Council for budget planning, goal planning and Chartering exercise.
· Attendance at monthly Finance Council meetings as a non-voting, ex officio member.
· Oversight of the various electronic/E-giving donation platforms.
· Oversight of parish issued credit cards.
· Preparation of parish payroll timely and accurately.
· Manage and monitor assigned Parish email accounts and passwords.
· Other duties as requested by Pastor.
Job Requirements
· A currently participating and committed member of the Catholic Faith that views his/her role as a ministry supporting the mission of the Church’s vision and core teaching.
· A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. Commensurate experience might be considered,
· Proficiency with the accounting principles necessary to oversee and input data in a timely manner for all payroll taxes, receivables, and payables.
· Proficiency with QuickBooks and Prime Pay software.
· Proficiency in WORD, EXCEL, GOOGLE product suites and E-Mail applications.
· Experience in arranging, leading, and participating in meetings.
· Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both with teams and independently.
· Excellent organizational skills, adherence to deadlines, attention to details and follow-through.
· Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
· Ability to commit to the required St. Raymond Confidentiality obligations related to Church records and staff.
· The incumbent will be subject to all required background checks and clearances.
