Description:
Catholic Charities Women’s Recovery Program, Leominster, MA. This program is a 20-bed residential rehabilitation treatment program (recovery home) for adult females who present with Substance Abuse Disorders and Co-Occurring Enhanced Disorders. Our program provides a clinical based substance-free environment for women.
This individual will provide psychiatric and substance use disorder care to agency clients and provide consultation, supervision, and education to program staff in conjunction with our staff psychiatrist.
Days and hours can be flexible, but we are looking primarily for weekdays, Monday through Friday.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the medical and safety orientation, training, and education of paraprofessionals to comply with the Nurses Practice Act.
- Evaluate, develop, and implement medical and emergency procedures on-site when necessary.
- Provide in-service trainings to employees in medical updates and reviews annually for CPR, First Aid, OSHA safety regulations, Universal Precautions and blood-borne pathogens, Hepatitis B vaccine, seizures and other health issues.
- Act as a resource for consultation with physicians and staff around physical and psychological concerns while making necessary referrals as needed for evaluations. This includes evaluating medical and psychological reports, treatments, family and personal medical history, and any other behavioral issues of concern.
- Responsible for program readiness, including health screening assessments and the documentation of required medication evaluations.
- Responsible for medication administration (as prescribed and when necessary) and documentation of subscriber orders, precautions, and teaching.

Requirements:
Requirements include a nursing license and certification by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse. Employee is required to renew certification and/or license at the time of expiration and is responsible for ensuring that all CEU requirements are met as mandated by the State Board of Nursing. Certified in First Aid and CPR and maintain certification thereafter. Must possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license. A working Knowledge of and experience with Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders is required, and experience in an all adult female residential setting is a plus.
