Position: Maintenance Worker
Reports to: Head of Maintenance
Full-time Monday - Friday (Temporary through Summer)
FLSA: Hourly Non-exempt
General overview: This position provides cleaning and light maintenance for the parish and cemetery grounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assures grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner. Responsible for but not limited to mowing, edging, weed eater, mulching, leaf removal, brush removal, cutting of small tress, planting and weeding flower beds, debris removal.
- Performs minor maintenance at all parish properties, including but not limited to: painting, changing light bulbs and ac filters, minor carpentry and trash removal
- Provides general assistance as needed through setting up and taking down of tables, chairs and dance floor for events.
- Responsible for the removal of trash after events as needed.
- Work in the cemetery grounds as needed.
- Any other duties as assigned by Pastor, Parish Administrator, Head of Maintenance
- Work schedule will be Monday through Friday not to exceed 40 hours per week.
Qualifications:
- Successful work experience in minor repair work in carpentry and painting.
- Successful work experience in maintaining grounds, parking lots and roads.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to bend, lift, reach and stay on feet for the duration of shift.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety/warning labels. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, employees, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
