Job Posting: Facilitator or Coordinator of Religious Education (Grades 1-5)
St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Religious Education Facilitator or Coordinator for grades 1-5. As a vital member of our parish community, the Religious Education Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director of Religious Education and staff to make active disciples of all our youth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum Planning: Work closely with the Pastoral Coordinator, Director of Religious Education, and staff to plan and coordinate Religious Education curriculum and activities, ensuring alignment with the parish master calendar, Holy Days of Obligation, local schools, and communities.
Calendar Management: Assist in establishing program calendars, considering the parish master calendar and local events. Maintain the Religious Education student calendar.
Facility Coordination: Collaborate with the parish administrative assistant and parishioner groups to coordinate the use of parish facilities for Religious Education activities.
Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment of catechists, small group leaders, and volunteers to support the Religious Education Program.
Record Keeping: Utilize eCatholic to maintain accurate records, send email reminders through Flocknote, and update class rosters. Create a master list for sending birthday cards.
Resource Management: Keep an inventory of resources, order supplies for the Religious Education Program, and refresh materials for Children’s Liturgy of the Word and children's bulletins.
Certification Oversight: Maintain records for catechists' certification, organize and collect annual Virtus/LoSec agreements, and ensure catechists and small group leaders are up to date on requirements.
Event Assistance: Assist with various programs and events organized by the Director of Religious Education or other parish staff.
Classroom Setup: Help set up and take down classrooms on Wednesday nights.
Substitute Responsibilities: Substitute as needed for Catechists, Religious Education Coordinator, Youth Minister, or small group leaders.
Pastoral Assistance: Assist the Pastoral Coordinator or other staff with all other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge:
- Must be a practicing Catholic, a member in good standing of a Catholic parish within the Diocese of Green Bay.
- Strong faith commitment, dedicated to Gospel values, and living a life of prayer and service.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Any degree in Theology and/or Education and/or previous experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, the internet, and all basic office equipment.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and occasional weekends.
This position has the potential for either a full or part time arrangement, depending on the selected candidate and his or her preference for additional responsibilities, such as Young Adult Ministry, Adult Education, or Discipleship and Evangelization efforts.
