Administrative Assistant - St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish
JOB OVERVIEW:
St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish in Two Rivers, WI is seeking a dynamic and welcoming individual to fill the role of Administrative Assistant. As the face and voice of our parish, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a welcoming and hospitable environment for all visitors and parishioners. This position requires a practicing Catholic or an individual willing to become familiar with the Catholic Faith, as it is integral to the tasks at hand. The start date for this job is May 1, 2024.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Answering the Phone:
- Hospitably handle phone calls, providing information and assistance to callers and direct calls to the appropriate personnel
• Maintain Parish Records:
- Organize and manage parish records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, and update and maintain electronic databases related to parishioner information and activities. Knowledge of eCatholic Management System is a plus.
• Programming Doors:
- Program and manage the opening and closing of doors for daily activities, events, and Masses.
• Design Weekly Bulletin:
- Create and design the weekly parish bulletin, incorporating announcements, schedules, and relevant information.
• Schedule Ministers:
- Coordinate and schedule ministers for weekend Masses and funerals
• Heating and Cooling Calendaring:
- Program the heating or cooling temperatures for events and activities taking place within parish buildings.
• Pastoral Assistance:
- Provide administrative support to the pastor and other staff members as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Embrace the mission and vision of the Catholic Diocese of Green Bay and work in accordance with Catholic Social Teachings and the moral and ethical values of the Catholic Church
- Practicing Catholic or willingness to become familiar with the Catholic Faith.
- Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or GSuite, Internet skills, and use of office machines
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as listening skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and be detail oriented
- Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
