Assistant coordinator of Faith Formation

The Department of Catechesis and Evangelization Assistant coordinator provides general clerical & logistical support for Coordinator of Adult Catechesis and Evangelization and the Director of Childrens Catechesis.
The Department of Catechesis & Evangelization includes but is not limited to English and Spanish: Elementary, Catechesis, RCIA, Sacrament Preparation, and Adult Evangelization & Catechesis.
Principal Accountabilities
- Handle general clerical duties including but not limited to copying, filing, and data entry.
- Report directly to the Director of Evangelization & Catechesis.
- Collect and curate bulletin & website updates to send to Director of Communications.
- Create and maintain student rosters and attendance records.
- Input and maintain data for sacrament preparation programs.
- Point of contact for scheduling Sacrament Preparation Discernment Interviews.
- Assist the department with yearly catechesis registration.
- Answer emails and phone calls regarding general questions about the department and its plans and policies.
- Maintains current records on all youth participating in programs and all youth & adult volunteers (including Safe-Environment information).
- Serves as member of the parish staff. Attends staff meetings, prayer days and educational days.
- Collect and maintain records for R.C.I.A.
- Support R.C.I.A. for Rites into the Church, and the Easter Vigil
- Submits expense reports for Director of Catechesis and Coordinator of Catechesis

- Responsible for supervising volunteers and assisting with volunteer recruitment.

Working Conditions And/or Physical Requirements
- This position works primarily in gathering spaces (parish hall, classrooms, gym) as well as in a typical office environment.
- Able to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time. Frequent use of computer keyboard that requires repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Flexible hours, some evenings and weekend work.
- Maintain proper boundaries between work and personal time and between employer and employee.
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds.
Travel Requirements
Knowledge And Skills Preferred
- A faithful disciple of Jesus Christ and obedient to the bride of Christ, the Roman Catholic Church.
- High School diploma required; some college preferred.
- Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, and planning.
- Ability to work with parents and children of all ages.
- Successful completion of the Parish Safe Environment process.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
FLSA Designation: Non-exempt
Job Grade: Part-time
