Cafeteria Manager
Merion Mercy Academy, an independent Catholic college preparatory school for girls in grades 9-12 outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, seeks a Cafeteria Manager to supervise, coordinate and assist with activities of cafeteria staff in receiving, preparing, cooking and serving food, and handling payment for food and drink in the school cafeteria. This is a full time, ten month position with an August 2024 start date.
Reporting to the Head of School the Cafeteria Manager will:
- Supervise and direct cafeteria personnel in the performance of their duties.
- Plan and create menus for daily food service and other school-related events, activities and functions as requested.
- Prepare hot and cold foods daily, including preparation of salad bar and sandwiches.
- Assist in daily cafeteria lunch line service.
- Order food and supplies necessary to prepare meals for student, administration and staff personnel.
- Maintain records to account for sales receipts.
- Approve food and supplies invoices for payment and submit them to the Business Office.
- Other events and activities as directed by the Head of School.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- Obtain or be eligible for a Servsafe Certification.
- Prior cooking experience in a commercial setting, preferably in a school cafeteria.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Basic food-handling skills.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate with coworkers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
- Computer skills including point of sale software and electronic food ordering systems.
