Catholic School Teacher - Instructional Technology
Summary
St. Anne Catholic School in Tomball, Texas, seeks a responsible, energetic and nurturing individual who has experience in the field. The position will be under the general supervision of the Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing Archdiocesan approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individuals students; creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
Additional IT support for campus staff is part of this position.
Position Purpose - Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' skills and competence in business and industry, technical skills, the use of technology, and the ability to problem solve in a wide variety of settings.
Essential Functions
Teach technology to all students grades PreK3 -8: 6, 7, and 8th grade 45 min every day; preK 3- 5th grade - 30 min once a week, and
- Promote a shared vision for technology use at the school with all stakeholders
- Serve as a network administrator for the school
- Manage users and devices through Google Admin Console
- Set up Google accounts for students and teachers; create groups
- Manage Google accounts of former staff and students
- Manage student online monitoring service GoGuardian
- Monitor daily student use of the devices and Internet
- Issue students demerits for violation of the device/internet rules and discuss infractions with students involved
- Follow up on the alerts from GoGuardian concerning student safety with the administration and the school counselor
- Assist teachers with their technology needs
- Promote technology integration in the classrooms
- Stay current with the best practices for Google management through participation in the online communities and attending conferences
- Inform teachers of the latest trends in educational technology
- Set up student accounts for online textbooks
- Assist with troubleshooting of all technology in school
- Maintain a functional computer lab
- Evaluate future technology needs
- Evaluate all technology related expenses and search for the best solutions
- Plan for and purchase devices as needed
- Keep track and renew as needed digital services like domain registration, GoGuardian, etc.
- Repair or arrange repairs of devices as needed
- Interact with Internet Service Provider and Network installer
- Participate in Archdiocesan technology committee
- Recycle old technology
- Set up audio/video equipment for visiting presenters/inservices
- Facilitate distance learning when needed
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
- In-depth knowledge of, and ability to use, MS Office Standard (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) 2003 and 2007.
- Knowledge of PC and MAC hardware and software.
- Knowledge of a wide range of industrial, technical and technology-related subject areas, as well as best practices in incorporating technology into student learning activities.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
