Frassati Catholic High School seeks an English teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Courses will include English I, which requires the teaching of Shakespeare, Sophocles, Homer, and Tolkein.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in English
or
• 24 credit hours in college English courses
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
The course requires in-depth teaching of several great works of Literature: Shakespeare's Julius Caesar and Romeo and Juliet, Homer's Odyssey, Sophocles' Antigone, and Tolkein's Fellowship of the Ring. Students should write often, reviewing important grammar principles, and are required to complete a major research paper. The school expects students to be able to navigate and understand poetry in its several forms.
