The Director of Faith Formation administers, coordinates, and develops Faith Formation programming for children of parish families. This is a nineteen (19) hour per week non-exempt position with a flexible work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special occasions.

Position Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Pastor; integral member of Pastoral Staff. Attends all staff and vicariate Faith Formation meetings.
- Administer, coordinate, and develop Faith Formation programs for children of our parish; recommend and supervise budgets to support said programs.
- Coordinate, encourage, administer, secure, and train volunteer catechists and other volunteers as needed; supervise and collaborate with department support staff.
- Develop grade appropriate curricula; design weekly lesson plans for catechists.
- Conduct Sacrament preparation meetings with parents. Coordinate these activities with the Pastoral Staff.
- Communicate regularly with program parents via email correspondence.
- Prepare a bulletin article periodically on Religious Education during the program year.
- Encourage confirmed youth to participate as liturgical ministers.
- Maintain ParishSoft family registrations, class assignments, tuition tracking; etc. for program record administration.
- Demonstrate personal and spiritual maturity in ministry. Working knowledge of child development, catechesis, and catechetical methodology is needed.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, Pastoral Studies, Education or other relevant area is preferred; Archdiocesan certification is preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Catechetics/Religious Education or Theology in a parish setting.
- Practicing Catholic and/or demonstrated extensive knowledge and understanding of the Roman Catholic liturgy.
- Full compliance with the Safe Environments requirements, including Empowering God’s Children for the youth.
- Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills; highly developed relational skills with Pastoral Staff and department staff.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding Parish and parishioner information and matters.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ParishSoft.
