Brief Job Description: St. Amelia School is seeking a warm, energetic, and dedicated Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join our early childhood team. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement age-appropriate, engaging lesson plans that support early learning in literacy, numeracy, social skills, and motor development
• Create a safe, welcoming, and consistent classroom environment rooted in kindness and respect
• Support social-emotional learning through positive guidance and modeling
• Communicate clearly and regularly with families about classroom routines, student progress, and upcoming events
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, colleagues, and administrators to support the overall goals of the school
• Participate in school activities, staff meetings, professional development, and family engagement events
• Uphold the values and expectations of St. Amelia School in all aspects of classroom and school life
Additional Responsibilities:
• Attend faculty meetings, grade-level meetings, and administrative sessions as requested by the principal
• Review and practice emergency procedures and drills with students in accordance with school policy
• Complete required reports, surveys, and documentation in a timely manner
• Submit annual classroom budget requests to the principal
• Maintain professional integrity, confidentiality, and a commitment to the mission of the school
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal to support the overall success of the school community
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, or a related field (required)
• New York State Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education (or working toward certification) preferred
Desired Skills:
• Experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting
• Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
• A collaborative spirit and a desire to be part of a mission-driven school community
