Position Overview
The Director of Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the operational functions at Notre Dame High School. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of facilities operations, including capital projects, long-term facilities management, and facility audits. This role requires collaboration with various departments, particularly the technology department, to ensure seamless project coordination and alignment with the school's strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilities Management:
- Oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational efficiency of all school facilities.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive facilities management plan, ensuring the highest standards of safety and aesthetics.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of facilities to identify areas for improvement and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Capital Projects:
- Lead the planning and execution of capital gains projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with the school’s mission and strategic objectives.
- Manage project budgets and timelines, coordinating with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Long-Term Facilities Planning:
- Develop a long-term facilities strategy that addresses the future needs of the school, including space planning, sustainability initiatives, and modernization efforts.
- Collaborate with school leadership to prioritize facilities development projects in alignment with enrollment projections and academic program growth.
- Oversight of Facilities Audits:
- Organize and oversee regular facilities audits to assess physical conditions, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze audit findings to inform decision-making and prioritize maintenance and improvement efforts.
- Collaboration with Technology Department:
- Coordinate with the technology department on infrastructure projects, ensuring that facilities support the school's technological needs and advancements.
- Assist in identifying technology upgrades and integrations that enhance the learning environment and operational efficiencies.
- Fiscal Responsibility:
- Maintain and manage both short-term and long-term budget related to facilities operations and capital projects
- Develop and implement financial planning strategies to ensure optimal resource allocation and fiscal health of the school’s operational functions.
- Monitor and report on budget performance adjusting strategies as needed to meet financial targets.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Participate in strategic planning processes, contributing insights on operations and facilities needs to support the school’s overall goals.
- Serve as a key member of the leadership team, providing operational expertise and fostering a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business administration, education administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in facilities management and operations, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully executing complex projects within budget and timeline constraints.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements in an educational setting.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and technology platforms.
