Position Summary:
St. Joseph Catholic School, a faith-centered Catholic school serving students in grades K through 8, is seeking a creative, passionate, and faith-filled Art Teacher to join our faculty part-time. The ideal candidate will have experience in visual arts education, a love for working with children, and a commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an age-appropriate art curriculum for grades K–8 that fosters creativity and artistic skills.
- Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that incorporate a variety of media (e.g., drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art).
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the classroom environment and curriculum.
- Organize and display student artwork throughout the school and at special events.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and art supplies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support cross-curricular learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development days, and school functions as required.
- Uphold and model the values of the Catholic Church in behavior and teaching.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 60 college credit hours or Bachelor’s degree.
- The desire to work toward licensure for Grades K-8 in Art.
- Prior teaching experience (preferred).
- Practicing Catholic or willingness to support the Catholic mission and identity of the school.
- Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing demeanor.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
