General Position Summary: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church is seeking a passionate and faith-filled Middle Ministry Coordinator to lead and grow our ministry for 6th-8th grade students. This role will focus on forming young disciples by fostering encounters with Christ through engaging catechesis, relational ministry, retreats, service opportunities, and dynamic youth nights. The ideal candidate is someone with extensive ministry experience, including OCIA, Confirmation, marriage ministries, youth ministry, campus discipleship, and retreat leadership. This person should have a heart for middle school evangelization, a strong knowledge of Catholic teaching, and the ability to inspire young people in their faith journey.
Principal Accountabilities
Middle School Ministry Leadership:
- Plan, coordinate, and lead weekly middle school youth nights, incorporating prayer, catechesis, small groups, and social activities.
- Develop and oversee a team of adult and teen volunteers to assist with ministry programming.
- Organize and facilitate retreats, service projects, and special events for middle school students.
- Coordinate, plan, and execute Alive Day Camp in the summers for 7 th and 8 th grade students
- Work closely with parents to encourage family involvement and discipleship in the home.
Sacramental Preparation & Faith Formation
- Collaborate with Director of Youth Ministry to plan, prepare, and coordinate the OCIA program for kids and teens for the Parish.
- Collaborate with the Director of Youth Ministry to integrate OCIA preparation into youth ministry programming.
Relational Ministry & Discipleship
- Build meaningful relationships with middle school students and accompany them in their faith journeys.
- Actively pursue relationships with 6 th grade students and their families to encourage growth in Ministry programs every year.
- Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where young people feel known, loved, and challenged to grow in holiness.
- Mentor and disciple middle school students through small groups, one-on-one conversations, and participation in parish life.
Collaboration & Parish Involvement
- Work closely with the high school youth minister, faith formation team, and clergy to create a seamless youth ministry experience.
- Assist in planning and executing parish-wide events that engage youth and families.
- Coordinate and run retreats, events, etc.
- Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and volunteers through newsletters, social media, and parish bulletins.
Typical Decisions And/or Recommendations Made In This Position
- Determine whether there are enough catechists to teach Middle School youth programming.
- Determine the particulars of a Middle School Youth retreat.
Supervision Given And/or Received
- Position will be under direct supervision of Director of Youth Ministry.

Working Conditions And/or Physical Requirements
- Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church, passionate about evangelization and discipleship.
- Certifications in ministry and strong theological foundation in Catholic doctrine and catechesis.
- Experience in OCIA, teen Confirmation, marriage ministries, youth ministry, campus discipleship, and college retreat leadership.
- Proven ability to engage, mentor, and form young people in their faith.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for youth events, retreats, and parish activities.
Travel Requirements
- Travel is rarely required, 1-3 times a year.
Education And Experience Preferred
- Experience working in a parish setting with middle school students.
- Continued faith education experience
- Familiarity with Focus, NET, Life Teen, or similar Catholic youth ministry models.
- Active member of the Catholic Church in good standing3.
- A college degree in related field is preferred
