Catholic Charities of Fairfield County is seeking a Director for its New Covenant Program located in Stamford CT. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of New Covenant Center (NCC) is responsible for all aspects of NCC’s Operations, Development and Facility. This includes responsibility for the following: all food program services, all relationships with food resource partners, maintenance staff, administrative oversight, the volunteer program, case management and all contracts and agreements associated with the building lease and all other facility and operational agreements. The Director is responsible for development and will work with development staff and the advisory council to obtain new donors and retain existing contributors while promoting the mission of New Covenant Center in providing a safe, supportive, respectful and hope-filled service environment to the guests who seek its services.
Accountabilities
- Prepares and manages all aspects of program budgeting and funding including timely and accurate processing of all financial reports and policies and oversight of program compliance.
- Collaborates with NCC development staff, the Director of Philanthropy, and the Development Committee of the Advisory Council in major fundraising events and initiatives, as well as grant writing requirements.
- Responsible for all aspects of facility operations and maintenance at the Center.
- Partners with the Family Center Director and Advisory Council as well as the Development, Fundraising and Community Partnerships staff, in creating and maintaining effective relationships and partnerships with the City of Stamford, businesses, civic organizations, other non-profit providers and faith-based organizations.
- In concert with the Family Center Director, the Development team and the Advisory Council, advocates for the program at the local, county and state levels to leverage funding, and collaborates with affinity organizations to build capacity and enhance or expand the program’s scope of services.
- Determines current and future NCC strategic planning and quality improvement requirements, in conjunction with the Family Center Director and the Advisory Council.
- Maintains compliance with all relevant regulatory bodies.
- Responsible for hiring, oversight and mentoring of NCC staff.
- Ensures a nurturing and positive atmosphere for guests, staff, volunteers, and visitors, in accordance with the program’s philosophy and mission.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Education, Skills, Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field; comparable equivalent training and experience considered.
- Proficiency in generating and monitoring program budgets required.
- Experience in the development and execution of fund-raising activities.
- Demonstrated success administrating multiple program services and effective financial management capability.
- Strategic and tactical team-building leader.
- Five years’ human services management or equivalent management experience correlating to the NCC service model or similar non-profit organization highly preferred.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to successfully cultivate relationships with volunteers, partners, vendors, and outside groups.
- Detail oriented, well organized, effective time management skills, ability to work under pressure and the ability to adapt to changes quickly are critical.
