Regis is seeking qualified candidates for the role of “Early Childhood and Lower School Physical Education Teacher” for the 2025-26 school year. This role reports to the Early Childhood Division Head.

Job Description – Physical Education Teacher
As a Sacred Heart Educator, and in partnership with your colleagues, you will design and implement a physical education curriculum appropriate for children ages 3 - 10. You will create and maintain a nurturing and supportive learning environment. You will work to build a Growth Mindset and healthy habits in students, while implementing positive behavior support and class management. The educational environment that is established must be in accordance with the Goals & Criteria of the Sacred Heart mission.
Responsibilities
- Teach physical education (PE) classes in various grades ranging from Pre-K3 to fourth grade.
- Collaborate with other PE colleagues and administration to support student learning and growth.
- Provide feedback to parents and caregivers via quarterly report cards.
- Help Regis students begin to develop a healthy relationship with their growing minds and bodies.
- Help design, coordinate, and facilitate the annual Field Day event.
- Foster collaborative and positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Participate in faculty and department meetings and trainings, serve on committees, and perform various supervisory duties as needed.
- Attend school functions that support the school’s mission and vision, both during and outside the normal school day.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School and Early Childhood and Lower School Division Heads.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably related to education or kinesiology.
- A minimum of two years teaching experience, particularly at the Early Childhood or elementary levels.
- Experience in an independent school environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills; self-motivated and responsible.
- Diplomatic, tactful, and possessing the ability to show grace under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills; team-oriented.
- Flexibility and “can do” attitude toward supporting colleagues as needed.
- Positive and energetic, while maintaining a growth mindset.
- References that speak to strengths.
