Chesterton Academy of the Incarnation is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time teacher for the 2025-2026 academic year to teach upper-level high school Latin. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching 4 th year high school Latin or above, experience with the classical-schools approach to student formation, a dedication to the Catholic faith in their daily lives, and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in a classical education environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Flexible hours, including at least three 45-minute classes a week during the
school year and all required prep time.
*Coach a small Senior class through initial readings and engaged discussion of selections from Livy, St. Thomas Aquinas, Horace, Hildegard of Bingen, Virgil, and various Papal Documents.
*Collaborate with fellow faculty members to create a cohesive and enriching educational experience focused on the formation of both intellect and character.
*Participation in monthly faculty meetings.
Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree in Latin, Classics or related field.
*Advanced reading knowledge of Latin grammar, both classical and ecclesiastical.
*2+ years teaching Latin preferred.
*Ability to convey the excitement and wonder of encountering great historical texts in their original language. Can explain why Google Translate will never be
enough.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*Commitment to the mission and values of Chesterton Academy.
*The candidate must be a practicing Catholic and willing to take the Oath of Fidelity to the Magisterium.
