Regis is seeking qualified candidates for the role of “Upper Grade Classroom Lead Teacher” in the Lower School for the 2025-26 school year. This role reports to the Lower School Division Head.

Job Description – Classroom Lead Teacher
As a Sacred Heart Educator, and in partnership with your colleagues, you will design and implement curriculum, differentiate learning as needed, and proactively communicate with parents. You will create and maintain a nurturing and supportive classroom environment. You will work to build a Growth Mindset and healthy social-emotional skills in students, while implementing positive behavior support and classroom management. The educational environment that is established must be in accordance with the Goals & Criteria of the Sacred Heart mission.
Responsibilities
- Teach literacy (reading, writing, language arts) and social studies in the general studies classroom to both sections at the grade level.
- Work in the classroom to support each student’s differentiated academic needs, helping all students access the curriculum. Collaborate with colleagues, the Learning Support team, and administration to support student learning and growth.
- Communicate proactively and directly with parents and caregivers via email, phone, and in person, through formal and informal parent-teacher conferences, report cards, and grade-level newsletters.
- Work with your grade-level team, as well as co-curricular teachers, to plan curriculum and programming, and implement best practices for teaching and learning.
- Help Regis students begin to develop the skills and tools necessary to productively and positively interact and maintain social relationships while discovering their sense of self.
- Foster collaborative and positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Participate in faculty and department meetings and trainings, serve on committees, and perform various supervisory duties as needed.
- Attend school functions that support the school’s mission and vision, both during and outside the normal school day.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or LS Division Head.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably related to education.
- A minimum of two years teaching experience, particularly at the elementary level.
- Experience in an independent school environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills; self-motivated and responsible.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Diplomatic, tactful, and possessing the ability to show grace under pressure.
- Empathetic to the needs and differing dynamics of families who attend the school.
- Strong interpersonal relationship-building skills; team-oriented.
- Flexibility and “can do” attitude toward supporting colleagues as needed.
- Comfort and proficiency with utilizing technology as an organization, presentation, and communication tool.
- Reflective practitioner with a growth mindset.
- References that speak to strengths.
