Elementary Teacher Opportunities Saint Benedict School is actively seeking elementary educators for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. Located on Main Street in Amherst, New York, Saint Benedict School offers programs in Pre-K3 through 8th grade to 428 students from the surrounding area. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
● Develop and implement lesson plans that adhere to the New York State standards, utilizing a variety of techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.
● Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes academic growth, character development, and spiritual formation.
● Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students and to accommodate various learning styles.
● Establish clear expectations for student behavior and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment.
● Communicate standards, achievements, and deficiencies through email, phone calls, conferences, and an electronic grade book on a consistent basis
● Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success and enhance the overall school community.
● Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
● Attend school events including, but not limited to open houses, HSA activities, concerts, etc.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Elementary Education
● Valid New York State Childhood Education (1-6), or comparable certification (preferred)
● Previous teaching experience in an elementary school setting, preferably in a Catholic school environment.
● Strong knowledge of elementary education principles, instructional strategies, and curriculum development.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Commitment to Catholic teachings and values.
● Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
● Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of a state and federal background check, completion of VIRTUS Training, reference check and completion of all necessary paperwork.
Salary: From $30,000 annually; 10-month, full-time exempt, benefit-eligible salaried position
