The Assistant Director of Education and Formation supports and enlivens the formation and education programs for the Lasallian Region of North America. The incumbent will plan, improve and sustain existing formation programming while supporting future initiatives.
Christian Brothers Conference (CBC) is the office for the Lasallian Region of North America of the De La Salle Christian Brothers (Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools). The CBC office is based in Romeoville, Illinois, and has employees based across the Region. This position can be remote. CBC provides programming and support for the four Districts (Provinces) of the Lasallian Region of North America and the more than 100 ministries primarily in the U.S. and Canada. The Lasallian mission is rooted in the vision and innovative spirit of Saint John Baptist de La Salle, patron saint of teachers, who founded the Institute in 1680 to provide a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor.
Key responsibilities:
• With the director of education and formation, the incumbent is responsible for execution of formation and education programs.
• Leads the evaluation process of Regional formation and education programs. Collects appropriate data and uses evaluations to make constructive changes to programs.
• Stays up to date on industry trends around virtual events and adult education.
• Takes a leadership role in the ongoing review and development of program curricula.
• Responds to programmatic needs and anticipates future formation and education requirements.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to aid in establishing communications strategies and marketing roadmaps related to formation and education.
• Considers new ways of growing the educational programs offered by the organization; incorporating technology; and marketing programs. Support ongoing efforts to consider emerging needs surrounding Lasallian formation.
• Requires frequent travel in the United States and Canada.
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will likely have an undergraduate degree in education, theology or a related field. Master's degree is preferred. Preference will be given to those who have graduated from a Lasallian formation program. They will be a clear oral and written communicator, self-starter, independent thinker, and team player, with a strong attention to detail. They should have significant technical proficiency in webinar tools and virtual learning platforms or have the ability to learn them.
