Position Description
Job Title: Food Truck Driver/Cook
Department: Community Food Services
FLSA: Non- Exempt/Part-Time
Reports to: Reports to Director of Operations and Community Engagement
Job Function: Catholic Charities feeds those who experience hunger in Schuylkill County by preparing meals to those in need throughout the county, primarily by use of a food truck. We are expanding services and seek a dedicated and responsible individual to serve as a member of our food truck crew, helping to load/unload the truck, serve meals, and drive the truck.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive the food truck to locations throughout Schuylkill and Carbon counties.
- Assist in the loading/unloading of food truck before/after meal service.
- Assist in meal preparation and food handling.
- Ensure adherence to proper food safety and handling procedures.
- Aid in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the food truck.
- Aid in maintaining in good working order all equipment including refrigerators, freezers, cookware and preparation/inventory spaces.
- Work with team to ensure high level of patron satisfaction.

Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED
Other Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn the proper procedures for operating the food truck and maintaining its kitchen operations in safe working order.
- Experience in food service or related fields such as catering or fine dining.
- Proficiency in meal preparation.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and food industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a helpful attitude.
- Ability to successfully complete ServSafe certification within 8 weeks of start date, or maintain current certification.
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals in a team environment.
- Willingness to work within the guidelines of Catholic Charities' mission and values.
Required Clearances and Trainings
- Prior to start date, all Safe Environment Clearances must be received and reviewed, including FBI fingerprint, Pennsylvania State Police and Pennsylvania Department of Health and Human Services clearances. All clearances must be renewed in accordance with Diocese of Allentown and/or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for duration of employment.
- Prior to start date, completion of Mandated Reporter Training (MRT) and every 5 years thereafter or when required by agency, Diocese of Allentown, and/or Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Prior to start date, completion of Protecting God's Children Training (PGC), as well as any recertification, for the duration of employment.
- Any additional requirements implemented by the Diocese of Allentown, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or specific grantors, for the duration of employment.
- ServSafe Certification within 8 weeks of start of employment.

Physical Demands
- Notwithstanding applicable ADA accommodations, while performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to: sit; walk and stand; speak or hear, both in person and by telephone. Use of hands to operate kitchen and office equipment. Reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
Employee is required to occasionally drive his/her vehicle to other Catholic Charities or Diocese of Allentown locations.
Working Conditions
- Must be willing/able to drive anywhere within Schuylkill and Carbon Counties, the 5 counties of the Diocese of Allentown and, on occasion, outside of the Diocese of Allentown.
- Must be willing/able to travel to conferences, trainings, etc. when required.
- Mondays through Thursdays, daily schedule may vary depending on community needs.
