Job Posting: Maintenance Manager
Marian Catholic High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep, safety, and functionality of our school facilities and grounds. This full-time role requires a hands-on professional with multi-trade experience, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and well-maintained environment for students, faculty, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and manage the custodial team.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of school facilities.
- Maintain school grounds, including landscaping, field preparation, and snow removal.
- Manage the school's heating system, sewer plant compliance, and hazardous material protocols.
- Inspect construction, repairs, and maintenance work to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and monitor maintenance budgets and expenses.
- Respond to emergency situations to ensure school safety.
Requirements:
- Due to the nature and mission of the Catholic Church, all employees are bound to exhibit respect for the teachings and discipline of the Church regarding matters of faith and morals, including maintaining a lifestyle that is in conformity with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Experience in maintenance required; school maintenance experience preferred.
- PA State Police Clearance (ACT 34), Child Abuse Clearance (ACT 151), FBI Fingerprints (ACT 114), and other Diocesan requirements upon hire.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Familiarity with OSHA/TOSHA requirements and asbestos training.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on foot throughout the day.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Working Conditions: High school environment with year-round responsibilities. 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday; May require work outside of regular hours for emergencies or special projects.
Physical Demands: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability appropriate for necessary mobility to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time; repetitive movements such as stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing (ladders etc.), reaching and twisting; frequent use of tools; will regularly push, pull, lift, and/or carry light to moderately heavy objects and occasionally safely life objects up to 50 pounds; requires a sense of touch, finger dexterity, and gripping with hands and fingers; ability to operate equipment.
