Overall Responsibility
The Saint Margaret Shrine in Bridgeport, CT is the only large-scale shrine in the United States dedicated to St. Margaret of Antioch. It is an oasis for prayer in Connecticut, providing multiple chapels, a community hall and a large meditation garden, with Mass celebrated daily, regular opportunities for Reconciliation and is a place for retreat and pilgrimage. The Rector will devote himself to the spiritual and pastoral needs of the people of the Shrine while managing the temporal and administrative responsibilities.
Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
- Manage all temporal and administrative affairs of the Shrine.
- Create a strategic plan to make the Shrine a truly diocesan site for prayer, retreat and pilgrimage.
- Manage the campus and its properties.
- Lead the development and fundraising needs of the Shrine.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience, Education And Qualifications
- BS in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
- Three to five years’ prior experience in roles with pastoral ministry, property and project management, and effective communications responsibilities, including experience in a business environment
- Catholic in good standing with a deep knowledge of the faith
- Demonstrated vision and ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage and implement a strategic plan
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and conflict management skills
- Proven ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages, diverse communities, and teams of volunteers
- Microsoft Office/Suite proficient (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
- Client-facing project experience
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision completing work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments
- Exhibits a professional manner in all dealings with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships; relates well with others including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the organization
- Strong decision-making, leadership and change management capabilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
