Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to serve as the High School Baseball Coach. This position involves developing and implementing a competitive baseball program, teaching students the fundamentals of the sport, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and promoting academic and athletic excellence. The coach will be responsible for leading practices, overseeing games, managing team logistics, and collaborating with school administration and athletic staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a season-long training program that builds skill levels in players.
- Conduct daily practices focused on technique, fitness, and team dynamics.
- Coach athletes during games, providing strategy and leadership.
- Monitor the academic progress of players and ensure that academic eligibility is maintained.
- Foster a positive team culture, promoting respect, discipline, and teamwork both on and off the field.
- Manage team rosters, equipment, and uniforms.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and administrators.
- Attend meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed during practice and games.
- Promote and recruit for the baseball program to encourage student participation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (required); college degree in education, sports management, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience playing and coaching baseball, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their personal and team goals.
- Knowledge of baseball rules, strategies, and coaching techniques.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches, athletic directors, and school administration.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a background check.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for practices, games, and team events.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during the season.
