St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic School in Medford has an immediate opening for one full time experienced bookkeeper. The school's enrollment has grown and there are currently 389 students in PreK-8th grade.
The School Bookkeeper is a key school position and is a steward for the financial and physical resources for the school. This position reports to the School Principal and Business Administrator. As a bookkeeper at a Catholic School, it is not required that interested applicants are Catholic, but it is important that all staff members embrace Catholic values and want to be part of a Catholic School community.
Knowledge/Skills: The successful candidate will possess a strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the ability to problem-solve, experience managing a budget, and strong technology skills. The School Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the school's financial recordkeeping, monitoring tuition payments, billing parents for various fees, creating purchase orders, ordering textbooks and supplies, reconciling school bank accounts, overseeing vendor contracts and analyzing school expenses. The ability to analyze data and prepare reports as requested by the School Principal or Business Administrator is an additional responsibility of the school bookkeeper.
Job Qualifications: The successful candidate will display exceptional communication and collaboration skills needed to interact with the different stakeholders including staff members and school families. Excellent organizational/time management skills, the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and attention to detail are essential. Interested applicants must be able to take initiative, problem-solve, and be willing to support events and activities that require the involvement of the bookkeeper.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting/business/finance is preferred. Work experience in accounting with successful coursework in Business/Accounting may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Salary is commensurate with experience. Paid Time Off and benefits are offered with this Full-Time position.
