Paraprofessional
Position Purpose
- Fulfills all responsibilities outlined in a written job description in addition to any duties assigned by the pastor or principal.
- Must be professional in manner, appearance, promptness, and job performance as specified in the job description.
- Does not promulgate teachings inconsistent with established Catholic teachings, openly adopt a way of life or conduct self in a manner inconsistent with Catholic moral standards.
- Meets any in-service requirements required by the school or diocese.
- Fulfills the requirements of all diocesan policies on the suspected abuse of children.
- Collaborates with all administration, faculty, and staff in the smooth and harmonious operation of the school.
- Supervise lunch periods and recess to ensure the safety and well-being of all students, including maintaining orderly conduct and addressing behavior issues as needed.
- Assist in the lunchroom by facilitating the flow of students through the meal lines, helping younger students open food items, and ensuring cleanliness of tables and floors between lunch periods.
- Provide support during recess by monitoring student activities, promoting safe play, and resolving minor conflicts or incidents in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
High School diploma or equivalent.
