Summary
St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School seeks responsible, energetic and nurturing individuals who love children and have experience with overseeing a STEM lab. The STEM Coordinator is responsible for the development, delivery, implementation, and monitoring of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) curriculum, initiatives and educational opportunities. The STEM Coordinator will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal while collaborating with classroom teachers to organize and promote interdisciplinary STEM activities that are aligned with content-area standards. The goal is to provide hands-on project based learning experiences in which students use 21st century skills collaboratively to solve real world problems. As an advisor and collaborator to teachers, the STEM coordinator is responsible for providing support in the designing of STEM units and lessons, providing content knowledge in STEM, analyzing data to modify curriculum and forms of assessment and sharing of best practices.

Pay Rate: depending on education & experience
Reports to: School Principal
Work Year: 2025-2026
School days: Aug. - May with some additional training days
Specific Days Needed: M, T, W, Th, F (any one or more)
Min./Max. Hours per week: 40
Job Hours: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (additional hours maybe added for meetings, etc)

Preferred Qualifications
- State Teacher Certification
- Possess a STEM Certification
- Three years teaching experience; STEM Lab experience preferred
- Catechist certification
- Safe Haven training
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit; be flexible, willing and able to play different instructional roles at the school; and be willing to go above and beyond to meet the varied and constant needs of the students
Job Functions:
- Assists teachers with improving techniques of STEM instruction and improving overall student achievement; provides instructional strategies and various tools to aid the instructional process; observes teachers and provides feedback and/or demonstration lessons.
- The STEM coordinator’s ultimate job is to work with instructional teams to create effective STEM learning experiences for students.
- Assists with the overall evaluation of STEM programs in the system and develops strategies for improvement; coordinates and provides staff development opportunities.
- Organize, develop, coordinate and provide trainings for administrators and professional staff related to STEM best practices and their integration into the classroom.
- Serve as a resource in identifying appropriate research-based instructional strategies and interventions to improve STEM achievement for students
- Develop STEM curriculum for grades PRE K - 8th
- Write weekly STEM lesson plans for grade levels PRE K - 5th - Create STEM lessons that correlate with grade level curriculum
- Prepare materials, set up, teach and tear down of each STEM Lesson for each grade level PRE K - 5
- Buy and restock supplies for the lab
- Meet with teachers on a weekly basis for grade level planning
Physical Requirements:

Additional Job Functions:
- Maintain classroom order and behavioral management to ensure the safety of the classroom.
- Assist HR teachers in administers group-standardized tests in accordance with district testing program, when needed.
- Oversea students in non-instructional duties, such as lunch, carpool, etc.
- Participates in curriculum and staff development programs within the school of assignment and/or on a district level, and participates in programs and activities that are provided by the school.
- Attend all in-service days required.
- Shares in the sponsorship of student activities and participates in faculty committees
