St. Joseph's Preparatory School is a Catholic, Jesuit, independent four-year college preparatory school located on the northern edge of center city Philadelphia. Founded in 1851, this highly-selective, all-male school serves over 900 young men in their pursuit of becoming "men for and with others." POSITION SUMMARY:
As St. Joseph's Prep plans for our next campaign, which we anticipate to be the largest in our school's history, the leadership of the Prep announces the following exciting opportunities to join our development team. We are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to contribute to our thriving advancement efforts. The ideal candidates will be a part of a successful, professionalized development effort focused on ensuring the future of the Prep.
The Prospect Research and Data Analyst will support the advancement efforts of the Development department by identifying broad prospect pools, supporting program tactics for prospect identification, and providing research and analysis on individuals, corporations, and foundations. The Prospect Research and Data Analyst will be responsible for disseminating information on stakeholders, maximizing and leveraging prospect research initiatives set by the Director of Operations, and conduct prospect research utilizing publicly available information sources as well as data provided through internal and external sources. He/She will partner closely with the Data Services, Major Gifts, Stewardship, and other Prep teams to support the Prep's Advancement's goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prospect Research and Data Reporting Analysis:
• Prospect Management, including the identification, evaluation, research, and assignment of new prospects and management of prospect pools.
• Conduct analysis on diverse data sets to help the Advancement team and Prep leadership enhance understanding of current and potential major gift prospects and improve donor and alumni outreach efforts.
• Compose and develop documents such as profiles, biographies, and project summaries using style, grammar, and content appropriate to specific audiences for Prep Leadership, Major Gift Officers and volunteers.
• Utilizing ethical intelligence-gathering techniques, provide high-level research on constituents using a wide variety of sources, including state-of-the-art online database services, internet websites, library and government sources, and other external repositories of public information.
• Execute delivering reports and data required for fundraising activities solicitation list, annual campaign, cultivation and special events by way of reporting from RENXT.
• Strong attention to detail required to maintain data hygiene, proofread, etc.
• Exemplary organizational skills to manage large qualities of details, tasks, and deadlines.
Prospect Data Tracking and Integrity:
• Maintain a high level of data accuracy and integrity, ensuring all data elements are properly communicated and archived for future reporting and retrieval.
• Knowledge of techniques and methodologies of donor research using traditional print and online sources with particular focus on the specific requirements of prospect research.
• Strong attention to detail required to maintain data hygiene, proofread, etc.
• Ensure all data is managed with the highest level of sensitivity, maintain information based on the policies and procedures.
• Handles extremely sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Maintain integrity, donor trust, and confidentiality at all times.
• Outstanding ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively.
• Ability to prioritize assignments and shift gears for different tasks regularly.
• Ability to work successfully in teams and under own initiative, to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, and to meet deadlines efficiently.

• Perform other duties and miscellaneous data entry projects as needed.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor's degree
• Three to five years' experience in a fundraising non-profit environment or related field.
• Detail oriented, highly organized team player with strong focus on accuracy.
• Demonstrated technology skills with a preference for direct experience with Raiser's Edge (RENXT) or other fundraising software.
• Demonstrated analytical skills related to complex donor research.
• Experience using Wealth Engine, ResearchPoint, IWave or similar fundraising research and analysis tools.
• Fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Team player with ability to multitask and switch priorities when needed.
• Strong interpersonal written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, high level of organization and willingness to take initiative.
• Positive, winning attitude. Driven and goal oriented.
• Highly ethical and able to maintain confidential information and a good sense of diplomacy.
• Willing to approach role and tasks with a commitment to the mission and values of the School and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
