Brief Job Description: We are seeking a passionate candidate, qualified to work as a Literacy Specialist, providing support, instruction, and intervention for emergent and struggling readers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Plan and implement lessons for emergent, struggling, and advanced readers.
• Managing the school-wide progress monitoring software.
• Work closely with administration, as well as classroom teachers, to assist with instruction and intervention.
• Push into classrooms and pull students for small group instruction.
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
• Teaching experience, particularly at the Elementary level
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education required, Master’s Degree in Literacy preferred
• Knowledge of Renaissance/STAR 360 software or willingness to learn
• VIRTUS certified and background checked
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Google Classroom and other technology or willingness to learn
• Strong classroom management skills
• Organized, friendly
• Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and students
Salary Information: Starting at $15.50 per hour
