Position Overview
The Annual Giving and Stewardship Manager is responsible for leading the organization's annual giving campaigns (unrestricted, scholarships, tax credits etc.) and ensuring meaningful engagement with donors through effective stewardship strategies. This position plays a key role in increasing donor retention, building donor relationships, and achieving revenue goals by coordinating appeals, managing donor recognition efforts, and fostering a culture of philanthropy.
Key Responsibilities Annual Giving Campaigns
· Develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving strategy, including direct mail, digital campaigns, and personal solicitations.
· Set measurable goals and monitor progress, ensuring annual revenue targets are met or exceeded.
· Create compelling content for appeals, donor outreach, and campaign communications.
· Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote campaigns through newsletters, social media, and events.
· Analyze campaign performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
Donor Stewardship
· Design and execute a robust stewardship program to recognize and thank donors across all giving levels.
· Manage the development and creation of the Honor Roll of Donors
· Coordinator donor acknowledgment processes, ensuring timely and personalized communication with Database Manager.
· Plan and coordinate stewardship events, such as donor appreciation receptions and impact tours.
· Develop and manage systems for tracking donor interactions and recognition.
Data Management and Reporting
· Maintain accurate donor records in the organization's CRM/database.
· Prepare reports on giving trends, donor retention, and campaign results for leadership and board review.
· Utilize data analytics to identify donor segments and tailor engagement strategies accordingly.
Collaboration and Leadership
· Work closely with other members of the Institutional Advancement Office to integrate annual giving and stewardship initiatives into broader fundraising efforts.
· Train and mentor staff, volunteers, and board members involved in donor cultivation and solicitation activities.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for annual giving donors, ensuring excellent service
· and relationship management.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field.
· 5-7 years of experience in fundraising, with a focus on annual giving and donor stewardship.
· Strong writing and storytelling skills for donor communications.
· Proficiency with donor management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge,).
· Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service mindset.
Preferred Skills
· Experience planning and executing donor recognition events.
· Familiarity with digital fundraising tools and techniques.
· Knowledge of fundraising best practices and donor cultivation strategies.
Working Conditions
· Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events.
· Ability to travel for donor meetings and events as needed.
