CATHOLIC HERALD - COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT

The Communications Assistant will report to the Editor and will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the publication, including administrative duties, reception, page production, content creation, and other duties as assigned.

Duties include:
Internal and external communications, e.g. phone, email, postal mail
Assisting with invoices, orders, and other office organizational tasks
Assisting with newspaper layout.
Designing ads and promotional materials.
Producing and placing content for the website and social media channels
Occasional photography and writing assignments.

Required Competencies:

Personally and joyfully seek to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ through active participation in the life of the Catholic Church.
Publicly profess and strive to follow Catholic teachings as proclaimed by the Magisterium of the Church.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to collaborate effectively and joyfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
Microsoft Office, Adobe (InDesign and Photoshop), Canva, layout design, and database experience or a willingness to learn.
College degree preferred.

Normal Work Days & Hours:
Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
