Required qualifications for the position are:

Associate’s degree or CDA in child development or a Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood, child development, or elementary education.
Experience in a daycare center, a preschool classroom, or in another child development-related job.
Has completed at least one course in business administration, or 12 contact hours in administrative related training, or 1 year administrative related experience.
At least 21 years of age.
Must pass DHS and Diocesan background requirements.
Knowledge of Iowa DHS licensing requirements.
Strong and cooperative leadership skills, work ethic, and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly personality, ability to work professionally with all children, families, and staff.
Flexible, dependable, adaptable, willing to fill in where situations require.
Professional appearance, attitude and conducts themselves according to Christian/Catholic moral values.

Responsibilities:

Provides leadership and effective fiscal management that can promote the mission of the center.
Maintains the safety, health, and well-being of staff and children at the center at all times, and adheres to the Safe Environment Program of the Diocese of Sioux City.
Ensures the center is in compliance with DHS licensing regulations, Diocesan standards city fire regulations, food licensing regulations, and other applicable regulations and standards.
Maintains children’s records according to DHS licensing requirements.
Develops positive and professional relationships and communicates effectively with children, parents, staff, Diocesan personnel, Preschool Initiative administration, Northwest AEA, vendors, state licensing authorities, and with all other agencies Angel House conducts business.
Provides a positive and professional environment for children, staff, and families based on mutual respect and the Diocesan Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards.
Conducts tours for prospective parents and enrolling new families. Takes necessary actions to maximize enrollment.
Interviews, hires, and ensures the required DHS and Diocesan training for new staff. Supervises and evaluates staff establishing specific individual professional development goals. Disciplines and terminates staff when necessary.
Oversees staff annual training, and maintains staff personnel files.
Manages staff ratios, schedules staff work hours.
Ensures accurate attendance records for state billing and accurate staff timekeeping for accurate payroll.
Attends and contributes to the required Preschool Initiative meetings as well as meetings with the staff and Board.
Oversees the implementation of preschool curriculum and updates the center’s program plans and goals.
Evaluates quality of program on an ongoing basis and seeks ways to improve the programming.
Maintains and updates staff and parent handbooks.
Helps cover classrooms as needed.
Performs other tasks as assigned.
