Powers Catholic High School is a Roman Catholic, co-educational high school serving over 600 students in grades 9-12 from the greater Flint area. Located on a 57-acre campus, Powers Catholic provides a rigorous academic curriculum alongside opportunities in fine arts, athletics, and extracurricular activities. Based on a firm Catholic foundation, the school fosters spiritual, academic, and social growth, preparing students to be leaders and disciples of Jesus Christ.

Position Summary
The President serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Powers Catholic High School, providing visionary, spiritual, and operational leadership. The President is directly responsible for enrollment growth, resource planning, marketing, financial management, advancement, and the implementation of strategic plans to advance the school's mission.
Acting in accordance with Catholic doctrine and moral teachings, the President serves as the primary liaison between the school, the Board of Trustees, and the Diocese. Working collaboratively with the Principal, the Diocesan Priest Chaplain, and administrative staff, the President ensures that Catholic virtues permeate the entire organization.
The President reports to the Superintendent of Catholic Schools and collaborates with the Board of Trustees to uphold and advance the mission of Powers Catholic.
Primary Responsibilities
Mission and Vision Leadership
- Serve as a spiritual leader, upholding and promoting the Catholic identity of the school.
- Ensure all strategic planning, financial decisions, and programs support and reflect the school’s Catholic mission and values.
- Generate, guide, and expand the long-term strategic vision, leadership and planning, ensuring alignment with the spiritual and educational goals of the school.
- Foster partnerships with parents, pastors, and Catholic elementary schools to advance the mission of Catholic education.
Strategic Leadership and Operational Oversight
- Lead initiatives to increase student enrollment, focusing on recruiting families aligned with the school’s Catholic mission.
- Oversee the development of marketing and advertising campaigns that reflect the school’s values, history, and commitment to excellence in Catholic education.
- Promote school-wide uniformity and operational efficiency while fostering collaboration across departments.
- Ensure efficient vendor management and oversight of campus maintenance projects, balancing operational needs with long-term growth.
- Oversee employee benefits and employment policies, ensuring alignment with legal standards and Catholic teachings on dignity and justice.
Institutional Advancement and Community Engagement
- Dedicate 80% of time to advancement activities, including overseeing marketing, enrollment management, and development campaigns.
- Lead fundraising initiatives, focusing on major gifts, alumni engagement, and community partnerships to secure financial support for scholarships and school growth.
- Foster strong relationships with alumni and donors, ensuring alignment with the school’s Catholic mission in all outreach efforts.
- Supervise and evaluate advancement staff, ensuring effective execution of development initiatives and campaigns.
Financial Stewardship and Resource Planning
- Lead strategic resource planning to ensure financial sustainability and mission-aligned investments.
- Oversee all financial operations, including budget preparation, tuition collection, financial aid programs, and accounts management.
- Supervise the Finance Department, ensuring adherence to diocesan policies and sound fiscal management.
- Oversee financial reporting, compliance, and investments, ensuring transparency and accountability.
Board and Administrative Relations
- Collaborate with the administrative team to continue implementing the strategic plan, track its progress, oversee its execution, and evaluate its outcomes. Regularly update the Board on progress and lead the development of a new plan upon its expiration.
- Serve as a liaison between the school, the Board, and the Diocese, fostering collaboration and clear communication.
- Plan and conduct regular meetings with the administrative team to ensure alignment and operational efficiency.
Marketing, Enrollment, and Alumni Relations
- Oversee enrollment management strategies, including recruitment, admissions, and retention plans, to grow and sustain student enrollment.
- Direct marketing programs and campaigns to enhance the school’s image and increase visibility in the community.
- Promote alumni engagement through targeted programs and outreach to foster ongoing relationships and support.
Qualifications
- Practicing and active Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church.
- Degree in Education, Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong leadership experience, preferably in Catholic education or nonprofit management.
- Expertise in enrollment growth, strategic planning and execution, financial management, fundraising, and marketing, preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and unite diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with a focus on operational efficiency and vision-setting.
