Job Description: Reading Resource Room Teacher
Location: Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, 48236
The Reading Resource Room Teacher will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students who struggle with reading. The teacher will work with students one-on-one or in small groups to develop reading skills and strategies. The teacher will also collaborate with classroom teachers to identify students who need additional support and to develop individualized plans for those students.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized instruction to students who struggle with reading
- Develop individualized plans for students who need additional support
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify students who need additional support
- Work with students one-on-one or in small groups to develop reading skills and strategies
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and instructional activities
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in reading instruction
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in the state of Michigan
- Experience working with students who struggle with reading
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized plans for students
- Knowledge of best practices in reading instruction
