Description
General Purpose: As a University Parish, St. Thomas Aquinas needs an individual who can organize ministry for both the University Students and the Resident Community. This position will involve overseeing Campus Ministry, OCIA, Marriage Prep and other Sacramental Preparation. A high ability to organize, facilitate and care for souls is needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
University Ministry
- Coordinate student run events
- Coordinate events run by staff for the students
- Oversee student ministry calendars
- Direct outreach efforts to new students
- Help coordinate retreats and trips
- Help envision a wholistic campus ministry
- Work in conjunction with existing FOCUS missionary team and coffee bar ministry
- Utilize statistics database to monitor ministry engagement
- Help oversee student registration and facilitate student involvement
Religious Education
- Run logistics for OCIA
- Plan curriculum and teaching schedule for OCIA
- Assist teaching as needed
- Manage all paperwork for OCIA
- Find and oversee teachers for children’s faith formation
- Plan curriculum for children’s faith formation
- Oversee other parish ministries and small groups
- Help oversee resident registration and facilitate resident involvement
Sacramental Preparation
- Oversee Marriage preparation program
- Organize and manage all Marriage paperwork
- Oversee Baptismal preparation
- Organize and manage all Baptismal paperwork
- Organize and manage all other Sacramental preparation and paperwork
- Oversee other parish events and ministries
- Other duties as needed
Qualifications
EDUCATION: College degree preferred or a minimum of 2 years experience working in campus ministry or religious education.
SKILLS: The University and Parish Ministry Coordinator must possess excellent organizational skills. They need to be able to keep track of many details, tasks and timelines. They need to be able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines. They need to uphold all of the Catholic Church’s teachings and have an ability to communicate these truths. They need good interpersonal skills so as to be able to receive people coming in from a variety of backgrounds and levels of formation.
Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043).
