BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Underwriting Account Manager is responsible for soliciting and securing support through business underwriting and sponsorships for the Iowa Catholic Radio (ICR) Network and planned ICR events. This position is accountable for achieving established revenue goals and ensuring that all contract agreements are fulfilled. In addition, the Underwriting Account Manager will build on-going relationships as well as maintain networking with businesses within the footprint of the ICR Network listening area.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Alignment with the Iowa Catholic Radio mission, our programming content and listening audience.
• Adhere to ICR policies and procedures.
• Solicit and secure business underwriting and sponsorships for the ICR Network.
• Achieve established underwriting goals for ICR.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director, Programming team and Business Development to ensure success.
• Establish and maintain relationships with business and individual prospects.
• Make presentations, secure contracts and finalize details of contracts for production.
• Manage workflow of contract agreements to ensure proper execution. Strong communication with traffic and production team.
• Support ICR Network events.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality related to client/benefactor/prospect information.
• Transition potential development leads to the Development Director; encourage and support benefactor relationships with ICR.
• Develop new revenue streams utilizing ICR's digital footprint. Stay current with digital trends and new ideas.
• Utilize systems in place for record keeping and order placement. Maintain client files within approved systems. Complete reports as required.
• Cognizant of FCC Regulations for a non-profit, non-commercial educational and religious broadcaster.
• Perform a variety of other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Catholic in good standing, with in-depth knowledge of Catholic teaching.
• Team-first: putting our mission over yourself and maintaining a great attitude, grounded in virtues.
• Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred, with advanced training desired.
• Prior outside sales experience in radio/TV and/or a background in communications preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills; ability to super-serve our clients' needs.
• Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
• Creative and innovative problem solver. Critical thinker.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products; working knowledge of Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Valid driver's license required. Ability and willingness to travel.
SALARY: This is a full-time position. The annual salary is commission + base pay. Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, HSA option, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave. Also provide Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Long-term Disability and Life Insurance and a 401(k) savings plan.
