POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Assistant Girls Lacrosse Coach
REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

The Office of Catholic Education provides expertise, experience, and energy to lead and assist those who carry out the education ministries of the Diocese of Cleveland. Founded in 1970, Lake Catholic High School is a coeducational comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis. Lake Catholic is committed to educating young men and women of diverse means and ability throughout Northeast Ohio. With a population of roughly 500 students in grades nine through twelve, Lake Catholic High School emphasizes spiritual growth in the Catholic Faith as students learn, work, and serve.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Has knowledge of existing state and league regulations; implements the same consistently and interprets them for staff.
- Has a thorough knowledge of all school administrative and athletic policies and is responsible for their implementation.
- Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels.
- Attends all required departmental & league meetings.
- Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by coaching staff.
- Act in a manner consistent with the Catholic philosophy of the school when dealing with players, coaches, officials, parents and other spectators.
- Expect and enforce this type of behavior from athletes.
- Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling, securing transportation and providing required materials for tournament play. Assist in providing transportation to/from events.
- Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.
- Consistently checks Final Forms (daily) for current physicals of student athletes and ensures all paperwork is electronically signed by parents and student athletes.
- Provides the Player Packet (Expectations/Rules, Uniform Agreement, Participation Fee, Calendar, etc) to the Athletic Director.
- A final roster of team members for state eligibility requirements and athletic department use to be submitted through Final Forms within one week from season start date/tryouts.
- Provides proper safeguards for maintenance and protection of assigned equipment.
- Performs other duties which may be assigned by the Athletic Director or Principal.
- Responsible for operating within the fundraising budget and has a knowledge of all purchasing procedures (per approval of Athletic Director).
- Accountable for all equipment. Coordinates the issuance and recording of equipment. Oversees the collection of issued equipment.
- Supervises locker room before and after practices and games. Responsible for the cleanliness of the locker room and practice areas. Supervises weight room when used by participants.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, sports management, or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as a high school coach, with head coaching experience (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.

- Knowledge of sport specific rules and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, resolve conflicts, and build consensus.
