Overview of Archbishop Wood:
Archbishop Wood High School is located on a thirty-two-acre tract of land in Warminster Township, Bucks County, just north of the intersection of Street and York Roads. The school is named to honor the memory of the Most Reverend James F. Wood, the fifth Bishop of Philadelphia and its first Archbishop. The school opened in September of 1964 as a twin facility to serve the youth of Central and Upper Bucks County along with areas of Eastern Montgomery County as single sex schools. Services were provided by dedicated religious and lay staff. The twin schools earned a well-deserved reputation for Catholic formation and academic excellence, boasting numerous awards and honors over the years. The schools became one coeducation institution on July 1, 1990, with the official merger of the twin schools.
Position Overview:
Archbishop Wood High School is actively seeking a qualified professional to fill the position of Assistant Director of Advancement. The successful candidate will support the efforts of the Advancement Office to secure public and private funding to advance the mission and core values of the school.
Summary:
Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement at Archbishop Wood High School, the Assistant Director of Advancement will work with the President and Leadership Team, as well as collaborate with the Board of Directors to promote the mission advancement program of the school. This position will include cultivating gift and fundraising efforts, planning events, and engaging with alumni and, and stewarding scholarship initiatives.
The position of Assistant Director requires an organized, professional individual who is capable of multitasking and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Responsibilities:
- Manage gift entry and acknowledgement processes for donations to various funds
- Maintain accurate and current information in Raiser’s Edge for alumni, donors, and prospects
- Lead and collaborate with the Director of Advancement regarding Advancement events
- Assist with compilation of direct mailings, solicitation and social media campaigns
- Collaborate with the Director of Advancement on monthly and year-end reconciliations
- Continually update website content and social media related to advancement efforts
- Prepare the monthly alumni newsletter
- Cultivate, coordinate and manage donor gifts and applicant information for the identified scholarship programs.
- Identify and solicit prospective donors for various campaigns
- Steward scholarship initiatives and donors
- Perform other duties when necessary
Qualifications:
- The applicant must demonstrate integrity and a commitment to supporting the Catholic mission of Archbishop Wood High School
- Demonstrated aptitude with new and emerging technologies as well as experience with Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, Google Drive and Canva
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build, foster, and maintain positive relationships with both internal and external constituencies including administrators, faculty, volunteer leadership, students, donors, and prospects
- Demonstrate an energetic and goal-oriented approach to promoting the advancement efforts of Archbishop Wood
- Three years of professional fundraising experience or other related fields
- Excellent oral, personal, and communication skills
- Strong work ethic, self-motivation and stamina, evidence of good judgement, attention to detail, and demonstrated personal integrity
- Bachelor’s degree required
Salary and Benefits:
Salary competitive and commensurate with experience and full benefits.
