Overview
The digital storyteller will enhance the online presence and communication strategies for Catholic education and our schools. This mission-driven role supports the Catholic Church and education by providing young students with a Foundation for Life focused on Academics, Belief, and Character Development. We seek a skilled digital storytelling professional to join us.
This role is dedicated to developing strategies and executing content creation and distribution to effectively convey the organization's objectives through engaging media. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
This role in the Office of Enrollment Management, under the Superintendent for Catholic Schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, reports to the Director of Enrollment Management. The main goal is to positively impact enrollment in Catholic schools in Brooklyn and Queens.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Develop and design engaging content for various social media platforms, including copy, images, videos, and infographics.
- Social Media Management: Manage and maintain assigned social media accounts, ensuring consistent and timely posting of content working with internal and external partners.
- Community Engagement: Interact with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a positive online community.
- Brand Communication: Communicate the organization’s objectives and values through creative and strategic campaigns.
- Analytics and Reporting: Create, monitor, and analyze performance metrics to inform future strategies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with school staff, internal and external marketing teams, and stakeholders to align media efforts with overall marketing and progress to enrollment goals.
- Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to school staff on effective social media practices and tools.
- Event Promotion: Promote school and community events through social media to increase visibility and engagement.
- Public Relations: Identify and share positive stories and achievements to enhance the school's reputation and reach.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in social media management and content creation
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Creative mindset, self with attention to detail
- Familiarity with analytics tools and other software, and ability to interpret data.
- Hold an earned bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Chinese is strongly preferred
- Experience in private school admissions, recruitment, marketing, or non-tangible sales
- Being a practicing Roman Catholic in unity with the doctrine, teachings, and traditions of the Roman Catholic Church is preferred to support the mission of the church and schools
- Ability to travel within and outside the geographic region of the Diocese of Brooklyn
- Ability to be effective in a remote and hybrid work environment including visits to our 60+ school locations throughout Brooklyn and Queens
