Description
Position Purpose: The part-time Custodian/Hospitality Clerk will be a welcoming, visible representative of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, answering questions, providing direction to visitors, and cleaning the facilities, while also providing a sense of security and hospitality.
Days & Hours: Sundays 8:00am-2:00pm, Mondays 7:00am-11:00am, Special Events as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. Unlocking the facility prior to services.
2. Cleaning pews, bathrooms, taking out trash, restocking supplies.
3. Ensuring cleanliness before, during, and after Masses and events, especially in highly visible and high traffic areas such as entrances and restrooms.
4. Removing trash and cigarette butts on grounds.
5. Managing non-parishioner guests use of the facilities.
6. Assisting volunteers and other staff to perform duties when necessary.
7. Securing the facility after Masses and events.
Requirements
Applicants for this position must have a very strong work ethic, and possess the ability to keep busy at all time through self-direction. Must be able to work collaboratively with diverse volunteers, parishioners, other staff, and unhoused persons who visit the Cathedral. Will have experience in custodial services and must maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance.
