JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary responsibility of the Hispanic Development Specialist is to support the Annual Giving and Hispanic Development teams primarily in an administrative/production capacity for digital campaigns and other efforts targeted to the Hispanic constituency in the U.S. We are seeking a candidate who can record, analyze and administer campaigns that will engage Hispanic prospects and donors in CRS' charitable giving efforts that support the mission of CRS.
The Hispanic Development Specialist will project manage, track, analyze and report on the production of these efforts and keep projects on schedule to meet the required deadlines. The ideal candidate will be fluent in written and oral Spanish and English and possess knowledge of the Hispanic community in the U.S. S/he will work within the Annual Giving team and closely with the inter-divisional Hispanic Development Unit to leverage and maximize efforts to engage Hispanic prospects and donors in CRS' fundraising efforts, with an overall goal of growth and volume of Hispanic donors over the long term.
Roles And Key Responsibilities
- Track, record, analyze and report efforts and strategies to engage Hispanic prospects and donors via community & digital channels, while administrating tasks with both internal and external partners for these efforts to flow properly and efficiently.
- Research and try different techniques to test response/engagement.
- Provide support in content creation where excellent writing skills in English and Spanish are necessary as well as thinking creatively to write in an engaging style.
- Properly and adequately process and record invoices, expenses, check requests and contracts.
- Work with other Fundraising Units, Editorial, and MarCom on the production of donor acquisition and retention campaigns, content creation (including email copy, landing pages, ad copy, video scripts and other marketing materials) and delivery/execution. Work closely with the Hispanic Marketing Manager/Web Unit and Communications Officer, Hispanic Outreach to ensure promotion on crsespanol.org and related social & traditional media channels. Work with different software such as Google Analytics, Every action and Workfront in order to create, track and process different phases of projects.
- Work with the Analytics Team to develop methods to identify, track and measure Hispanic affinity and preferences, for prospecting and segmentation for targeted campaigns to different subsets of Hispanic constituents.
- Review reports to measure campaign effectiveness and share analysis with appropriate stakeholders.
- Execute the messaging strategy for the Hispanic Audience in the Facebook, texting and WhatsApp platforms including the preparation and scheduling of messages as well as reviewing and responding to our audiences’ messages and ad posts according to CRS’ social media policy and boiler plates. Also track and record new contacts across texting and WhatsApp platforms and the growth of our audience overall.
- Attend and provide support at events as a CRS representative. Work on the logistics and proper execution of internal and external events for the Annual Giving and Hispanic Development Units. Monitor existing programs and determine needs for Spanish language materials.
- Represent Charitable Giving in cross-divisional initiatives with other units such as Mission and Mobilization, Advocacy and MarCom. Attend activities and events related to Hispanic prospect/donor outreach and engagement. Attend monthly Email Communications Working Group meetings.
- Review materials and provide feedback during the creation of marketing and fundraising campaigns when requested. Identify ways to improve messaging to appeal and be relevant to Hispanic audiences.
- Stay informed of professional trends and issues affecting Hispanic fundraising, digital fundraising and community engagement.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field
- 5+ years administrative experience and/or experience with Hispanic marketing and/or fundraising
- Understanding of and comfort level with interacting with diverse Hispanic constituencies
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written in English and Spanish
- The ability to work at special events, which may sporadically take place in the evenings or on weekends.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Strong creative and self-management skills to work on the particularities of different projects.
- Excellent organizational, attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to stay focused and on tasks to achieve multiple deadlines.
- Working knowledge of excel and Microsoft tools to organize and track data and projects.
- Requires minimal supervision with strong decision-making and negotiating skills.
- A deep understanding of the U.S. Hispanic audience and culture.
- Experience with Fundraising/Marketing concepts.
- Good writing and editing skills in both English and Spanish, and a willingness to learn techniques to write in a way that maximizes response for a Hispanic audience.
- Solid team player with strong time management skills, detail-oriented and ability to work under deadlines with grace and good humor. Willingness and patience to help foster a greater cultural competency within CRS for non-Hispanic staff.
- Ability to speak, write and present information clearly in English and Spanish.
- Willingness to learn about and adapt to new fundraising strategies.
- Eagerness to increase knowledge of fundraising and the Hispanic market as well as donor/consumer psychology.
- Knowledge of the structures and social teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Willingness to learn the depth and breadth of CRS' programs.
Required Languages – Spanish
Ability to travel occasionally and work at special events, which may occasionally take place in the evenings or on weekends.
If the person is not located in the Baltimore area, the role may also require occasional travel to the Baltimore office.

Internal: All Fundraising Units as well as Church Engagement, Editorial, Donor Services, Data Analytics, MarCom and Advocacy.
External: Community groups and individual donors & prospects. Vendors and consultants as needed
