We are seeking toemploy a full-time Dean of Students for the 2024-2025 school year beginning in January 2025.

Dean of Students
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Dean of Students is appointed by the Principal and is immediately responsible to the Principal. The Dean of Students leads the efforts to create a positive, structured, disciplined school culture. As a member of the school administration team, the Dean of Students oversees students’ daily attendance and adherence to school wide rules and regulations. Through coordination with the Principal and in collaboration with the AP for Academics, AP for Guidance, Athletic Director, and Campus Minister, the Dean of Students helps to set goals and objectives for student self discipline, as well as growth and development through academics, extracurricular activities and athletics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Explicating, enforcing, and surveilling rules, regulations, and expectations of students and staff.
- *Supervising and coordinating the development, implementation and evaluation of student attendance.
- *Establishing an efficient program for student orientation.
- *Managing homeroom activities including the arrangement of assemblies and masses.
- *Maintaining the functioning and records of allocated student lockers.
- *Annually revising, arranging, and distributing the student handbook.
- *Organizing student necessity and access to uniforms and school memorabilia.
- *Supervising student and staff activity within the dining halls, hallways, courtyard, lounges and library.
- *Surveying the Directors of Clubs & Activities, and Student Government.
- *Assisting teachers, students, and parents/guardians in necessary individual behavior plans.
- *Overseeing the detention hall parameters and attendance.
- *Coordinating, scheduling, and implementing lock-down, bus, and fire drills.
- *Assisting in organizing prominent academic and social events for students and parents/guardians.
- *Providing observational and evaluative input of teachers to the Administration.
- *Establishing rapport and maintaining relationships with teachers, students and parents/guardians.
- *Serving as liaison with local government agencies including the city and transit police department.
- *Generating pertinent summaries of student and parent behavior for the Administration to review.
- *Pursuing their own self-discovery and growth
- *Fulfilling supplemental duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
● Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- *At least 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred
- *Excellent oral and written communication skill
- *Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion
