TITLE: Maintenance Support Staff
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
COMPANY: St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church
CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, Hourly, between 20-29 hours weekly
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the parish facilities. Duties include daytime janitorial work, as well as, grounds upkeep and maintenance tasks. The position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Responsible for the safety and cleanliness of parish building and grounds.
- Perform simple maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, painting, replacing air filters, minor repairs, and others as needed.
- Light cleaning and restroom upkeep, with additional daytime janitorial duties as needed (major cleaning addressed by nighttime janitorial service).
- Basic upkeep of the landscaping, including picking up garbage, clearing debris, weed control, and other upkeep as necessary.
- Snow removal during seasonal period.
- Setup and take down tables and chairs for events.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Able to organize time, prioritize tasks, and have the ability to be flexible.
- Reliable and keen eye for detail.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to follow directions.
- Have good judgment in regards to the cleanliness of items under his/her responsibility.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to lift up to 60-70 pounds.
- Positive attitude towards the Catholic Church, her teachings, and her work.
- Ability to work on-call for emergency and snow removal, along with some weekends to cover special events.
- Exact hours/shift are negotiable, but work to be completed between 7:00AM and 4:00PM
