We are also growing, with a new state of the art shelter opening in the near future in Attleboro, MA.
In the newly created position, our Grant Writer will report directly to the CEO and will lead the organization’s philanthropy through the creative engagement of foundations, major donors, and governmental agencies through grants, funding proposals, and contracts.
Managing all aspects of foundation relationships, including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding prospects; participating in the implementation of solicitation strategies, ensuring compliance with foundation guidelines, including the required reporting procedures and financial monitoring of grants
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Identify and research potential funders, target appropriate ask amounts, and prioritize and evaluate prospects for foundations and governmental (local and federal) funding sources for institution-wide support
· Monitor and manage grants income goal, schedule of foundation proposal deadlines, and works to expand and broaden foundation prospect pipeline
· Update and maintain the master grant document / calendar to ensure all submitted grants, approvals / denials, and reports are recorded in a timely way.
· Develop and foster relationships with existing and potential funders: Arrange for tours on site; make appointments for senior managers, program staff, and others
· Manage existing grants by tracking grants; developing internal reporting systems; fulfilling reporting requirements; maintaining excellent historical records; working with staff to ensure each project or program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations.
· Responsible for writing and submitting all grants and the process from start to finish to complete the final product
· Responsible for annual submissions of all contracts including the applying for and reporting on the contracts.
· Responsible for ensuring all foundation donors and federal and state grantors receive appropriate follow-up reports and stewardship
· Completion of annual reports

What You Bring to The Table
·· Bachelor's degree
· Grant writing and fundraising experience for non-profit organization
· Personal accountability for the quality of work
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Excellent technological skills in Microsoft Outlook.
· A reliable ensured vehicle, good driving record and valid driver’s license
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to pass a criminal background check
· Commitment to integrity, excellence, and the highest standards of ethics
