General Introduction
The Archbishop, visible principle of unity in his archdiocese, is called to build up the particular Church unceasingly in the communion of all its members, and to ensure that their diverse gifts and ministries, in union with the universal Church, serve to build up all the faithful and to spread the Gospel. (Apostolorum Successores 8). He must take care that all the affairs which belong to the administration of the whole archdiocese are duly coordinated and are ordered to attain more suitably the good of the portion of the people of God entrusted to him.” (Apostolorum Successores 177).
Each position employed in the Chancery helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.
General Summary Of Essential Purpose
The Development Seasonal Employee is a part of the Development team and collaborates with the department and assists with planning, execution, and continuous improvement of the team’s priorities. This position reports to the Asst. Director of Development Operations.
This position is 20 hours per week from early December 2024 through early January 2025 at the downtown Seattle location.
Essential Position Duties
Database (75%)
- Research and review:
- Research and identify all non-electronic monthly recurring donors in the database.
- Coordinator for “Emblem” project for the ACA. The “emblem” recognizes how many years a current donor has donated – research and pull together this data.
- Assist in developing a birthday card process for donors and Crozier Society members in conjunction with the Donor Database Administrators.
- Data entry:
- Update donor records (deceased info, birthday info, email info, parish updates)
- Assign donors to portfolios.
- Enter parish goals for ACA2025 in the Raiser’s Edge.
- Complete weekly review of Parishstaq data files from individual parishes.
- Other data entry as needed, including gift entry, demographic updates.
Special Projects (25%)
- Pull, merge, and proofread annual tax statements to all donors. (Understanding of merge fields ideal)
- Review collected potential institutional grants and eliminate or mark for follow up.
- Assist with development and execution of efficient steps to acknowledge donors.
- Contact Parishes to find out who is working at the parish and use this information to update the website as needed.

Essential Qualifications
- Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
- Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers.
- Familiarity of the Catholic Church.
Education and Experience
- Must be 15 years of age of older and either attending high school or have graduated with a high school degree.
- Excellent understanding of MS Office tools.
- Strong self-motivation, positive, winning attitude, and energetic.
- Attention to detail.
- Creativity and a sense of humor.
- Ability to handle and respect confidential and sensitive information.
- Mailchimp experience a plus.
- Interest in nonprofit fundraising a plus.
