Description
Summary: Provides oversight of FOS programs and services including coordination of volunteers for: Transportation to non-emergency medical appointments, assistance with grocery shopping, visiting/keeping company with isolated, lonely seniors, telephone reassurance, respite for primary caregivers, referrals to other agencies and/or organizations.
- Conducts outreach throughout the county.
- Acts as ambassador for ALL CCCSDC programs and services at trainings, forums, meetings etc. Stays current on available resources for seniors, trends, and interventions.
- Recruits, engages. trains, and maintains all documentation for volunteers. Ensures all safety protocols are communicated and followed.
- Screens potential new clients for services.
- Maintains current and accurate documentation of services provided, including at least daily updates in Assisted Rides.
- Matches volunteers and schedules transportation.
- Matches volunteers and schedules in-house support (shopping, visiting, respite, telephone re assurance.)
- Supports and directs program assistant and admin volunteers in provision of services and precise recordkeeping.
- Assists with mailings - "Welcome" letters and rules for clients, applications and volunteer materials, donor acknowledgements, fundraiser "Asks" etc.
- Provides ongoing direct services by driving clients to appointments as scheduled. Other tasks as directed to ensure FOS excels.
Pay range: This is a non-exempt, hourly position. The hourly pay range is: $27.47 - 30.22.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend on call as needed.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
- Ability to remain stationary at a workstation and use a computer.
- Must be able to meet clients at their home or other off-site locations (eg. Ors offices, hospitals, clinics.)
Qualifications: Bachelor level with at least two years of experience in social service, health care or similar field.
Skills, licenses and I or competencies:
- Bi- lingual a plus.
- Access to a car, valid driver's license required.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing and telephone skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to maintain client databases- including Assisted Rides program.
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to engage with, and assist, individuals in crisis.
- Must be comfortable serving low income, disenfranchised and/ or homeless populations and seniors of all religions, in a way consistent with CCCSDC culture.
