The Community Engagement Specialist will assist in the development and management of strategies to provide volunteer opportunities in the community. Recruit volunteers, conduct orientations, schedule, and coordinate the volunteers for the events managed through Catholic Social Services.

Experience: Bilingual in Spanish, a plus, not required.
Duties / Responsibilities:
Volunteer coordination
- Volunteer recruitment for agency events using volunteer software.
- Lead and supervise volunteers at events, by directing volunteers in the duties of the event.
- Assists with logistics and coordination of group-based client activities, special projects, and other tasks, as necessary.
- Assists in coordinating engagement activities and events.
- Represents the agency at events, meetings, and participates in community outreach events which may include providing talks, presentations, and participation in resource fairs.
- Volunteer events will include evening and weekend hours.
- Follow up and coordinate with community partners, Catholic parishes as well as with other faith-based organizations and programs to maintain and develop group programming and referrals.
- Center information and reception,
- Collaborate with OLGC Community Engagement Specialist with pantry duties:
- Assist in maintaining records of donations.
- Provide general program support to include filing and maintaining program materials.
- Responsible for the receiving, organizing, and ordering of event items.
- Process invoices related to the event with vendors and CSS fiscal department.
Reporting and Data
- Responsible for volunteer program data entry and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in agency database.
- Supports data gathering for reporting based on specific tasks and projects.
- Participate in ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the programs.
- Designs and conduct surveys and focus groups with volunteers to improve program accessibility and outcomes.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree, preferred.
- Three (3) years, experience in Volunteer coordination, desired.
- Demonstrated experience with event management software (i.e., SignUp Genius, Everbrite, etc.).
- Bilingual in Spanish, a plus, not required.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to drive a cargo van.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to learn company database/software.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining effective work relationships.
- Ability to work with a culturally diverse population.
- Ability to work independently to manage a substantial workload with deadline pressures.
Work Environment:
- Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
- In the community as needed for essential responsibilities.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to lift to 30 lbs.
- A flexible work schedule at volunteer events will be scheduled for evenings and weekends.
