Responsibilities:
** This job is eligible for a $2,000 hiring incentive**
The Family Daycare Early Learning Specialist will work with Home Based Child Care providers and the pre-school age children in their care.The ELS will deliver home-based service to daycare providers, providing twice-weekly face-to-face visits. In addition, the ELS completes reports and assessments as required by the ParentChild+ Program and Catholic Charities of Onondaga County. The specialist will travel throughout Onondaga County for visits, assist with family recruitment, and participate in networking and community events. They will attend weekly staff meetings, individual supervision meetings, and maintain compliance with funding source guidelines and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.

This Position Full Time at 35 Hours a Week - Starting Pay For This Position Is: $18.50 per Hour
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience Required at Entry:
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with up to 2 years of experience working with young children and/or families, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience may include daycare, in-home childcare, nanny, or former program participant.
- Knowledge of child development and familiarity with community resources.
- Home visiting experience preferred.
- Bilingual/multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to share language, life experiences, culture, and community with the families.
- Basic computer skills
- specialized training or coursework related to the position.
Licenses/Certifications/Clearances:
- Valid NYS Driver’s License,
- registered and insured vehicle,
- NYS Child Abuse Registry Clearance.
- Clearance from the Office of Mental Health.
Working Conditions and Environment/Physical Demands:
- Mobility sufficient to drive to and participate in meetings at clients' homes and/or community facilities that may not meet Federal accessibility standards for disabled individuals.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to work with children/adults in a challenging and active environment.
