The Catholic Foundation of the Diocese of Lansing is now accepting applications for a Donor Services Specialist. This position collaborates closely with the Development Officer and Donor Services Manager, providing excellent donor services exemplified by prompt and accurate gift processing and acknowledgments, and related communications and data entry. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide accurate data entry for all donor gifts so that processing, tracking, reporting, and acknowledgement of gifts are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Develop and maintain routine and custom lists for office mailings, and utilize database for labels/letters.
- Assist the Foundation and Diocesan staff by creating and running reports to obtain general or specific information about fundraising activities and results. Communicate and interact with donors, parish and diocesan staff, clergy and volunteers regarding database records, and donations made to the Foundation to support the mission of the Church. Solve problems when necessary.
- Process and record all pledges, payments, and donations.
- Assist with training of temporary support staff and volunteers when necessary.
- Maintain files for gift documentation and related correspondence.
- Handle donor inquiries received by telephone or email with utmost professionalism.
- Assist Donor Services Manager with overall donor services and data management.
- Assist in managing relationships with donors and with diocesan and parish staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education: High school diploma is required. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
Experience: Qualified candidates will have 1-2 years administration/secretarial experience, the ability to prioritize and work independently, strong written and verbal communications skills including attention to detail and accuracy. Customer relations/donor service experience is preferred, but not required.
Require: Ability to prioritize tasks, learn quickly, work independently and maintain confidentiality is required. Must have excellent phone skills and be able to maintain composure, flexibility, and a commitment to donor service and satisfaction. A fully supportive attitude toward the Catholic Church and her teachings. Physical Demands: While performing duties, employee has to sit for long periods of time, use hands in repetitive motion tasks, and answer telephone calls. The position also requires some standing, stooping, and bending. Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds. Employee is expected to work primarily onsite, Monday through Friday.
